Inter coach Simone Inzaghi’s focus has been on solidifying the defense in training ahead of Sunday’s Serie A match against Juventus.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, who report that the coach has made compactness and solidity in defense a key theme in the preparations for Sunday’s match.

Inter’s away defensive record has not made for pleasant reading from Inzaghi’s perspective this season.

The Nerazzurri have averaged 2.25 goals conceded in away Serie A matches, and 2.5 in the Champions League.

Inter will face a formidable away test in the form of Juventus this weekend, as even with the Bianconeri’s mediocre start to the campaign so far they still undoubtedly have the kinds of weapons needed to hurt the Nerazzurri.

Inzaghi has focused the work ahead of Sunday’s match on having the entire team remain solid and compact, from the forwards and wide players through to the midfield and the defense.

The coach will likely be betting on a back three of Milan Skriniar, Francesco Acerbi, and Alessandro Bastoni to keep the Bianconeri at bay, but in truth he wants to whole team to be more focused on their defensive task than they have so far this season.
