Inter Milan legendary defender Beppe Bergomi believes that midfielder Marcelo Brozovic is a very important player, but Turkish international Hakan Calhanoglu should start against Juventus.

The former Nerazzurri captain commented on Marcelo Brozovic when speaking with FCInter1908.it that he believes that Inter midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu should start against Juventus on Sunday at 20:45 CET at the Allianz Stadium in Turin.

“I would not change. Brozovic is a very important player and when he did not play last year, there was always trouble. There are a few games left before the break and I would start the players who are in form,” Bergomi stated.

“I have to say that Calhanoglu has been a pleasant surprise because he can do more defensively than Brozovic.

“Obviously when you have to increase the tempo, like in Florence, Brozovic is a maestro and they can alternate based on the match,” the former Inter legend concluded.

The former Inter Milan captain played his entire career with the Nerazzurri and made 517 appearances in Serie A with the club from 1979 until he retired from football in 1999.

During his time with the Nerazzurri, Bergomi won one Serie A title in 1988-89, one Coppa Italia in 1981-82, one Supercoppa Italiana in 1989 and three UEFA Cup’s in each of the 1990-91, 1993-94 and 1997-98 seasons.

The former Italian international defender was also part of the 1982 FIFA World Cup winning Italian National Team that beat West Germany 3-1 in the final.
