Italian journalist Fabrizio Biasin feels that Arrigo Sacchi was unduly harsh in his criticism of Inter’s performances in the Champions League.

Tweeting in response to Sacchi’s comments that the Nerazzurri lacked the right mentality for Europe, Biasin responded that the former Milan coach could not have seen what was shown throughout the Champions League group.

Sacchi stated in an interview in yesterday’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport that Inter must still do some growing, particularly in terms of their mentality and approach in Champions League matches.

However, Biasin did not agree with this sentiment.

The journalist felt that the Nerazzurri’s achievements in the Champions League this season speak for themselves.

Inter drew what many considered to be the “group of death” with Bayern Munich and Barcelona and nevertheless progressed to the round of sixteen, hardly looking out of place against that level of opposition.

Biasin tweeted, If he writes that Inzaghi’s Inter haven’t proven that they have a ‘European mentality’ then he must have turned off the TV for all of their group after the first match against Bayern. He could have just turned it back on.”
