Local police have banned the use of banners, flags, megaphones, and drums by the Curva Nord during Inter’s Serie A clash with Bologna at the San Siro on Wednesday.
This according to the online edition of Milan-based newspaper Corriere della Sera, who report that this is in addition to four stadium bans having been handed out to Curva Nord ultras in response to scandalous scenes at Saturday’s match with Sampdoria already.
The investigations are well underway into the incident which saw members of the Curva Nord ultras use intimidation and violence for make regular matchgoing fans vacate the San Siro’s north stand.
Four individuals responsible for forcing fans to leave the stand have already been identified and stadium bans have been issued.
A five-year band has been handed out to a 52-year-old resident of Varese who had already received a ban in the past.
Meanwhile, a 31-year-old who had already been investigated by police in Naples for possession of a pyrotechnic device has received a two-year stadium ban, the same length as for an 18-year-old resident of Milan who was found to have used force to urge fans to leave the stand on Saturday.
Lastly, a 22-year-old with no prior record has received a one-year ban for his behaviour during the incident.
Apart from these stadium bans, the Corriere della Sera reports, the authorities have decided that during Wednesday’s Serie A match between Inter and Bologna at the San Siro, scheduled for 20:45 CET, the Nord ultras will not be permitted to perform their usual chants and displays.
Wednesday’s match is the final fixture for Inter at the San Siro before the World Cup break.
