Reggina Sporting Director Massimo Taibi has confirmed that the Calabrian Serie B outfit has an option to buy Inter youth product Giovanni Fabbian.

This according to an interview in yesterday’s print edition of the Gazzetta del Sud, as reported by Tiforeggina.it where Reggina sporting director Massimo Taibi stated that it is too early to discuss the young midfielder’s future.

“We are pleased about the support, we tracked him for a long time and in the end, we were able to get the loan.

“It is premature to discuss his future. We will do so with Inter in June because we also have an option to buy him.

“Filippo Inzaghi made a good decision to put his faith in him from the start,” Massimo Taibi concluded.

Giovanni Fabbian started his youth career with Padova, before moving to Inter Primavera squad in 2018 where he spent four years with the Nerazzurri.

On July 30, 2022, the Inter youth player joined Reggina FC on loan making his debut for with the Calabrian club on August 14, 2022 against SPAL in Serie B.

He scored his first goal for the club against Sudtriol in only his third appearance.

Fabbian has represented Italy at the Under-16 level. He was also in the Italian squad for the 2022 UEFA European Under-19 Championship, where Italy reached the semi-finals against England.
