Inter Chief Executive Officer Beppe Marotta is happy with coach Simone Inzaghi and that he has grown day by day during his tenure with the Nerazzurri.

In an interview with Italian broadcaster DAZN prior to tonight’s Derby d’Italia, as reported by FCInterNews, Inter Chief Executive Officer Beppe Marotta commented on coach Simone Inzaghi’s progress with the Nerazzurri.

“[Inzaghi] has grown day by day. Experience is important for coaches, as Simone is a young coach, who has had an important stint with Lazio. He arrived with great credentials and he is respecting our objectives.

“He helped us to qualify for the Round of 16 in the Champions League and we are doing better in the league. We are happy,” continued Marotta.

“[A result] would mean climbing up the table, even if we want a convincing performance to return as protagonist like we know we can be.

“[Allegri] is an expert and he wants to create tension. Saying that we are favorites gives us stimulation. It is part of the game and it shouldn’t condition the match,” concluded the Inter CEO.

Inter face off agianst Juventus in a must win edition of the Derby d’Italia. Maximum points are needed for both teams because of the pressure to catch Napoli at the top of the Serie A table. Prior to kick off, Inter are sit eleven points back of the Partenopei.

Prior in joining Inter Milan, Beppe Marotta spent eight years with Juventus as their Chief Executive Officer, replacing Jean-Claude Blanc.

Marotta was officially appointed as Inter Chief Executive Officer for Sport in December 2018. Since joining the Nerazzurri, Inter has won a Serie A title and a Coppa Italia.
