Inter wing-back Denzel Dumfries has emerged as a transfer target for Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur ahead of January.

According to Calciomercatoweb.it, the North London outfit are keen to land the Netherlands international Dumfries as they bolster their options in a bid to secure Champions League qualification next season.

Spurs coach Antonio Conte, formerly of Inter, is a big fan of Dumfries and would like to bring him to White Hart Lane, but the English club may baulk at the Nerazzurri’s €40 million asking price.

Dumfries still has two-and-a-half years remaining on the contract he signed when joining Inter from PSV Eindhoven in 2021, and the Nerazzurri are reluctant to lose him.

It is thought that Spurs may look to reduce this price tag by offering Brazilian right-back Emerson Royal in exchange, with the former Real Betis man a previous target of Inter’s.

However, Conte is not keen to lose Emerson and is only looking to add to his squad, making a transfer this winter more questionable.
