Nerazzurri legendary goalkeeper Walter Zenga refuses to predict an Inter defeat in tonight’s edition of the Derby d’Italia at 20:45 CET.

In an interview yesterday with Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, as reported via FCInterNews, former Inter goalkeeper categorically refuses to discuss an Inter defeat against Juventus because he hopes that the Nerazzurri can win every game.

“I will never predict that Inter will lose, even if I was tortured. I hope Inter wins every game because I am an Inter fan,” said the former Catania manger.

Zenga continued to say that tonight’s Derby d’Italia is not as important as the match yesterday between Napoli and Atalanta, where the Partenopei come 2-1 winners versus La Dea.

“We are talking about a match between the seventh and eighth placed teams. The most important game of the round was Napoli versus Atalanta and there is also the Derby della Capitale,” concluded the former goalkeeper.

Walter Zenga played with Inter from 1982-1994 and collected 473 appearances  in all competitions with the Nerazzurri.

During his time with Inter, he won one Serie A in 1988-89, one Supercoppa Italiana in 1989, 2 UEFA Cup in 1990-91 and 1993-94.

He was voted IFFHS Goalkeeper of the Year in 1989, 1990 and 1991. Following his playing career, he has several managerial tenures in Italy with  Catania, Palermo, Sampdoria and Crotone.

He has also managed abroad in MLS with New England Revolution and in Romania with Dinamo Bucharest and Steaua Bucharest.
