Inter striker Edin Dzeko was the victim of racial abuse from Juventus fans during yesterday’s 2-0 defeat in the Derby d’Italia in Serie A.

According to Tuttomercatoweb.com, the Bosnia and Herzegovina international was targeted by a section of home supporters at the Allianz Stadium, with racist chanting coming from the Curva Scirea section of the ground.

Former Manchester City striker Dzeko was jeered and subjected to anti-Gypsy chanting during the match, which Juventus won thanks to second half goals from midfielders Adrien Rabiot and Nicolo Fagioli.

It is reported that the abuse was in retaliation for similar chants made by Inter supporters prior to kick-off against injured Juventus and Serbia striker Dusan Vlahovic.

Dzeko played the full 90 minutes in Turin but was unable to help Inter secure a positive result, as they fall behind Juventus in the Serie A table with defeat.

The 36-year-old joined Inter from Roma in 2021 and has scored 23 goals in 68 appearances in all competitions.
