Italian journalist Paolo Condo feels that Inter showed a lot of positive qualities in their Serie A loss to Juventus yesterday, but ultimately paid for not making the most of their chances.

Writing in his column in today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper La Repubblica, Condo argued that the Nerazzurri’s lack of a real ruthless edge in front of goal was the main culprit in their defeat at the hands of the Bianconeri.

Inter had plenty of possession against the Bianconeri, and were able to work a number of promising situations and even concrete opportunities to score.

However, when the best chances came, the likes of Lautaro Martinez and Denzel Dumfries in particular were not able to find the back of the net.

Moreover, an overall lack of a real presence in the penalty area made the jobs of Juventus defensive trio Alex Sandro, Bremer, and Danilo easier than they perhaps should have been.

Condo writes of the match, “It was certainly an eventful battle.”

“Inter showed a lot throughout, but they were blunt and ultimately too wasteful in attack,” is his verdict.
