Inter defender Milan Skriniar could sign a contract extension this week, as it is set to be a decisive one in terms of negotiations.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that things are getting close to an agreement on a new deal worth around €6.5 million net per season for the Slovakian.

Inter have now been actively in talks with Skriniar and his representatives for well over a week.

The signals have been positive in the contacts that have taken place over the past few days.

The Nerazzurri want to get talks wrapped up as soon as possible, and the decisive agreement could come as early as this week.

Inter would certainly not be able to come anywhere near the almost €10 million net per season that the former Sampdoria defender would be offered by Paris Saint-Germain with their contract offer.

However, it has been no secret that the Nerazzurri are ready to offer the 27-year-old around €6.5 million net per season, in line with what Lautaro Martinez and Marcelo Brozovic earn.
