Porto Vice-President Vitor Baia is anticipating a difficult round of sixteen tie in the Champions League against Inter, but fully intends for his side to try to go through.

Speaking on the official website of the Portuguese champions, as reported by FCInterNews, Baia stressed that the team have to treat it as an attainable goal to progress from a big European tie against the Nerazzurri.

Porto may well have some disappointment that, after doing very well to top a group containing Club Brugge, Bayer Leverkusen, and Atletico Madrid on the final day of the group stage, they have not been rewarded with easier opposition that Inter.

However, the Portuguese side have certainly already more than proved their quality with their exploits in the group stage.

Just as the Nerazzurri are not going to be underestimating Porto just because they got an “easy” side on paper compared to other possibilities, the Portuguese will not be daunted by their opposition.

“It will be a top-level matchup against a team of high quality, with great players,” Baia said.

“But we believe it’s possible to reach the next round, we want to make it.”

“Our mission remains intact and anything can happen,” he continued.

“We strongly believe in our abilities, and in the dynamics of our team and our coach.”

“We’re positive by nature and we believe that we can reach the next round, we have winning in our DNA,” Baia added.
