Inter are working towards getting a deal done to sign forward Marcus Thuram from Borussia Monchengladbach on a free transfer in the summer.

This according to Italian broadcaster SportMediaset, who report that the 25-year-old is a serious target for the Nerazzurri and could be available without a transfer fee should he not extend his current contract with the Germans.

Thuram had already been a high-profile target for Inter in the past, with the Frenchman having been on the Nerazzurri’s radar as one of the main targets to reinforce the defense following Romelu Lukaku’s departure last summer.

Talks had been reportedly advanced for Thuram’s signature, but a badly-timed injury meant that the Nerazzurri moved on to other targets, ultimately signing Joaquin Correa from Lazio.

However, this did not cause Inter to lose interest in signing Thuram, who they have continued to track.

Given that the 25-year-old’s current contract with Gladbach runs out at the end of June 2023, the Nerazzurri are working to get a deal done with him when he is out of contract next summer.
