Defender Pepe, midfielder Otavio, and striker Mehdi Taremi are set to be among the key men for Inter to watch out for when they face Porto in the Champions League round of sixteen.
This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who name the trio as the players who are at the heart of everything Porto do well in European competition.
Defender Pepe remains a stalwart at the back for Porto even at the age of 39, and has shown how difficult he can be to get the better of with his displays against Juventus in the Champions League a couple seasons ago as the Portuguese knocked the Bianconeri out of the competition.
Meanwhile, Otavio is a player who has only grown in importance for Porto over his time at the club, with the versatile midfielder vital in stitching together the midfield and attack.
Lastly, the Gazzetta note that the holdup play and goals of Mehdi Taremi will pose a major test for Inter’s back three
The predicted starting eleven that the newspaper sets out for the Portuguese champions in the tie is as follows:
Porto (4-4-2): Diogo Costa; Pepé, Pepe, David Carmo, Zaidu; Otavio, Uribe, Eustaquio, Galeno; Taremi, Evanilson.
