Inter midfielder Marcelo Brozovic made his 300th total appearance for the Nerazzurri when he came off the bench in yesterday evening’s Champions League clash with Juventus.

This is highlighted in today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who note that the 29-year-old was finally able to hit the milestone after a month out with a thigh injury.

Brozovic had made his 299th total career appearance in an Inter shirt in the Nerazzurri’s Serie A clash with Udinese before the September international break.

However, given that the Croat was injured during the break, picking up a thigh strain during his country’s Nations League fixture against Austria, he has been out for over a month.

Brozovic was fit enough to be called up to the squad in yesterday’s match against the Bianconeri.

The 29-year-old will have hoped for things to have gone better than they did when he came off the bench in yesterday’s match, which the Nerazzurri lost 2-0.

However, the match was nevertheless an important milestone for the midfielder, whose importance to Inter has only grown year on year since joining from Dinamo Zagreb in January 2015.
