Inter wingback Matteo Darmian has picked up a thigh strain which will rule him out of tomorrow evening’s Serie A match against Bologna as well as the subsequent match against Atalanta.

This is confirmed by the club in an announcement on their official site, where they update that the 32-year-old has picked up a muscle strain as determined by medical tests today.

Darmian had felt some muscular discomfort in training, and underwent tests with the Nerazzurri’s medical staff.

The tests showed that the former Manchester United, Parma, and Torino wingback had picked up a strain in the adductor muscles of his right thigh.

Darmian will be out for the final two Serie A matches that the Nerazzurri have scheduled prior to the World Cup break.

According to the club announcement, further tests will take place in the coming weeks to see when Darmian can return to action from the injury.
