Tottenham Hotspur head coach Antonio Conte wants the Premier League club to move for Inter defender Alessandro Bastoni as part of a plan to reinforce the squad in January.

This according to UK tabloid The Sun, who report that the English team are readying a €43 million offer to sign the 23-year-old.

Spurs had showed an interest in signing Bastoni early on in the transfer window, although the player preferred to remain at the Nerazzurri.

The London-based club instead signed Barcelona defender Clement Lenglet on loan.

According to The Sun, however, Conte is hoping to reinforce the squad further in January already, including in defense where Bastoni is still a major target.

The tabloid reports that Juventus midfielder Weston McKennie is another targeted by Spurs, whilst Conte is a big admirer of RB Leipzig defender Mohamed Simakan.

It remains to be seen whether Bastoni would be open to a deal with Spurs as early as the January transfer window, or if they would reject the offer as in the summer.
