Atalanta head coach Gian Piero Gasperini expects that his team will be at their best when they face off against Inter on Sunday evening.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster DAZN after his team’s Serie A loss to Lecce, as reported by FCInter1908, Gasperini stated that whilst La Dea have some fatigue to work through, they can be at their best when they face the Nerazzurri.

Atalanta have not been in their best form of the season in recent matches by any means, following up a loss against Napoli at home with a shock defeat on a trip to Puglia to face Lecce.

However, Gasperini’s men have certainly shown how formidable they can be over the past few seasons, with Inter having failed to beat them at either time of asking last campaign, and over the opening week of the current campaign.

Gasperini gave his thoughts on the upcoming match with the Nerazzurri in Bergamo, stating that “We’ll prepare well for our match against Inter, these are the kinds of matches that really tell you how strong you are.”

“We’ll take some time to get over some physical knocks, but we will be at our best on Sunday,” he added.
