Inter have arranged a series of friendlies to keep the team ticking over during the World Cup break, including a match against Red Bull Salzburg.

As reported in today’s newspaper edition of Corriere dello Sport, the Nerazzurri are aiming to keep players who haven’t been called up to World Cup squads fresh during the mid-season tournament, with Serie A set to pause from Monday until January.

Simone Inzaghi’s side will travel to Malta for a training camp between 4 and 9 December, and will face Salzburg on Wednesday 7, after completing a match against a local team earlier in the week.

Meanwhile, another friendly is expected to be confirmed on 17 December, with Spanish outfit Real Betis the most likely opponent.

Inter are also hoping to secure matches against Italian opposition in Reggina and Sassuolo before the resumption of the Serie A season, although no dates have been confirmed as of yet.
