It is becoming increasingly unlikely that centre-back Stefan De Vrij will be offered a new contract at Inter, with the club reluctant to meet his demands.

According to Italian television broadcaster Sport Mediaset, and as reported by FCInterNews.it, the Dutch defender is keen to put pen to paper on a new deal at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, with his existing terms set to expire in June 2023.

De Vrij has seen requests for negotiations to be opened over a renewal go unanswered and it is reported that his desire to secure a new contract has been met with coldness from the club.

The former Lazio defender would be available as a free agent at the end of the season but Inter are in no rush to secure his services and avoid losing him without a transfer fee.

This is despite efforts to tie fellow centre-back Milan Skriniar down to a new contract, with the Slovakian also reaching the end of his current deal next summer, and negotiations set to begin with striker Edin Dzeko.
