Inter have the opportunity to end their disastrous run of form against direct rivals when they face Atalanta in Serie A tomorrow.

As reported in today’s newspaper edition of Corriere dello Sport, the Nerazzurri have suffered heavily when coming up against teams at the top of the table and have not picked up points against any of the teams currently in the top eight in Serie A.

Simone Inzaghi’s side fell to defeats against Lazio, bitter rivals AC Milan, and Udinese before the end of September, whilst October was marked with a home loss to Roma.

Most recently, Inter fell to a 2-0 defeat in the Derby d’Italia against Juventus last weekend, and tomorrow’s trip to the Gewiss Stadium to face sixth-place Atalanta is a chance to finally register points against a top team in the league.

Indeed, the highest-ranking teams that Inter have beaten this season are Torino and Fiorentina in ninth and tenth respectively, and it required late goals to settle both games.
