Inter striker Edin Dzeko is focused on securing a new contract with the club and remaining at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza is his preferred choice.

As reported by Calciomercato.com, the Bosnia and Herzegovina international is approaching the final months of his current deal with the Nerazzurri, and is set to become a free agent next summer.

However, Dzeko is keen to remain beyond the end of the current campaign and would be ready to take a wage cut in order to secure a new contract at the club.

The former Manchester City and Wolfsburg striker currently earns €5 million per season on the contract he signed upon joining Inter in 2021, and it would take a reduction for the club to be willing to agree to a new deal.

Despite approaching his 37th birthday, Dzeko remains an important part of coach Simone Inzaghi’s plans and his influence and professionalism within the squad have been noted this season.

Dzeko joined Inter from Roma after a prolific stint with the Giallorossi, and has scored 24 goals in 69 appearances for the Nerazzurri.
