Inter coach Simone Inzaghi wished all his players bound for the FIFA World Cup in Qatar good luck ahead of the start of the tournament.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster Inter TV, as reported via FcInterNews, in the immediate aftermath of the 3-2 Serie A win away against Atalanta, the former Lazio coach hoped all his players would have a great tournament in Qatar.

“The hope is that they return refreshed. Now the players leave for the World Cup, I wish they return as laste as possible as that would mean that they would have progressed far with their national teams.

“The I hope to have them all in the best condition possible. Aside from Lukaku we have had to do without D’Ambrosio as well as Darmian, and they are all important players for us.

“An important game won despite suffering for periods of time, as in every game.

“We didn’t approach the game well in the opening 25 minutes, which is also due to the fact that we were faced with a strong opponent who are well coached and strong physically.

“We did well to stay in the game, equalize and then to win deservedly. In the second half there was more mobility on our part, we did better technically and we were able to do to things better and deserved to go in the lead.

“We have done very well in the Champions League, we have dropped too many points in the league. At this point last season we have four points more than we do now, only two point of the top spot.

“We are talking about a completely differently balanced league but we have to only look at ourselves and if we do that we see we have won the last six out of the last seven we’ve played. We know we can continue to improve.”

Inter came back from a goal down to in 3-2 away against Atalanta to record their 10th win in the Serie A this season, making it their first win against a direct rival having lost all previous five so far this season.

The Nerazzurri have lost to Lazio, AC Milan, Udinese and Juventus away from home in the Serie A as well as Roma at the San Siro in early October so today’s win over Atalanta was a long awaited one against a direct rival.

Bosnian international Edin Dzeko scored a brace in today’s 3-2 win bringing his tally in the Serie A to six and nine overall in all competitions so far this season which saw Inter finally win away against a top six side in the Italian topflight.
