Inter coach Simone Inzaghi has said that Atalanta will be a tough opponent on Sunday and the Nerazzurri must improve to have a chance of beating them, according to a report in the Italian broadcast media.

Speaking to Sky Sport Italia ahead of the match in Bergamo, via FCInternews, the Inter boss was asked whether this is finally the time that Inter can win a clash against one of the other top teams in the league, having failed to do so this season.

He stressed the quality of the opponent and the need for Inter to improve if they are to win: “Absolutely yes. We know that in the championship we have to improve, especially in these types of matches.

“Today we have a tough opponent, who comes from two defeats. It is a match we must approach in the best way.”

Inter are not as high up the table right now as they would like to be due to losing five games already. Napoli are enjoying a commanding lead at the top and Simone Inzaghi could only praise them.

“We are all there in 2-3 points, clearly they are doing something incredible. Something you don’t even see in other leagues in Europe. There are still many games to go though, there is space and time.”

Marcelo Brozovic is on the bench with Hakan Calhanolgu continuing to take his role and on that, Simone Inzaghi said: “He did well, what he had to do in a complicated moment for us. Now Marcelo is better, I evaluated whether it was time to bring him back at the start, but we’ve already seen that those who are out for a long time then need to take the right steps to get back in.”
