Anderlecht caretaker coach Robin Veldman has hit out at Inter owned Italian striker Sebastiano Esposito for not being at the Stadium despite not being called up to the squad for a Belgian Jupiter Pro League match.

Speaking after the game against Genk, as reported via FcInterNews, the Anderlecht coach seemed to suggest that the relationship between himself and the striker is beyond all repair.

“I was mainly concentrated on players that were called up to play this game. Esposito was not one of these players. I didn’t know that he had returned back to Italy.

“However, we expect that that players that have not been called up to the match day squads are present at the stadium for our home games.”

Sebastiano Esposito joined Anderlecht last July on a season long loan deal with an option to buy but where Inter had an option to buy the young Italian striker back.

Since making the move the youngster has featured 21 times across all competitions scoring just twice with most of those appearances coming as a substitute late in the game.

Esposito last started for Anderlecht on October 13th in the 2-1 loss against Premier League outfit West Ham away at the London Stadium in the Conference League group stage.

His last start in the Belgian Jupiter Pro League came on September 4th in a 2-2 draw at home against OH Leuven. In yesterday’s defeat at home against KRC Genk, Esposito was dropped from the squad altogether.
