Inter are set to offer striker Edin Dzeko a new contract, and have been in talks with his agent about the matter since August.

This according to Italian news outlet Gazzetta.it, who report that contacts between Nerazzurri Sporting Director Piero Ausilio and Dzeko’s agent Alessandro Lucci date back to this August and that they intend to resume serious contacts after January.

Dzeko’s future has become a significant topic for Inter given that the Bosnian has been in fine form in front of goal and one of the key players in getting some important results, most recently with his brace in a 3-2 win over Atalanta.

According to the Gazzetta, Ausilio and Lucci already spoke in August to get the lay of the land in negotiations.

The pair’s intention is to begin serious talks early in 2023.

The intention of both the Nerazzurri as well as Dzeko and his representatives is to try and find an agreement to continue on together past the end of the current season.
