Inter’s Bosnian international striker Edin Dzeko has been named the Man of The Match in a report in Italian print media today.

According to a report in Milan-based Gazzetta dello Sport, as reported via FcInterNews, the former Roma striker gets a rating of 7,5 out of a maximum of 10 for his performance against Atalanta.

The veteran Bosnian striker is lauded not just for his goalscoring but also for his overall play and it is argued that when he is on the pitch, Inter play better as a whole.

Edin Dzeko joined Inter in the summer of 2021 from Serie A rivals Roma to replace Romelu Lukaku who was sold to Chelsea that same summer for a reported record fee of €115 million.

The former Manchester City striker has since joining the Nerazzurri featured 70 times across all competitions scoring 26 goals in the process.

Bosnian international Edin Dzeko scored a brace in yesterday’s 3-2 win bringing his tally in the Serie A to six and nine overall in all competitions so far this season which saw Inter finally win away against a top six side in the Italian topflight.

The Nerazzurri have lost to Lazio, AC Milan, Udinese and Juventus away from home in the Serie A as well as Roma at the San Siro in early October so today’s win over Atalanta was a long awaited one against a direct rival.

Edin Dzeko’s current deal with the Nerazzurri expires at the end of June 2023 but it seems that he will extend his contract with the club beyond that point.
