Inter legend Beppe Bergomi believe his former side deservedly won all three points away against Atalanta in the Serie A but that the team is not the finished product just yet.

Speaking late last night on Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, as reported via FcInterNews, the former legendary Inter Milan captain underlined that although Simone Inzaghi’s men fully deserved their win they have a lot of improving to do.

“Inter is a team that is yet to draw a game in the Serie A this season, and in the end have four points less than at the same point last season.

“Their problems lay in the defensive phase. I’ll go against the tide here and say that Inter struggled a lot in the first half, where Atalanta also played well.

“I still believe that you can do better than they did towards the end, they have to do better because they especially always find themselves in difficulty when defending corner kicks.

“They played a good game, they won deservedly but they have to continue to grow.”

“Edin Dzeko is a kind of player who will always do well in the Serie A. I want to underline the goal he scored against Bologna which for me was incredibly beautiful.

“He is a player who also helps the team to play better and who could accept to sit on the bench in games when Lukaku is back to 100% fitness.”

Inter came back from a goal down to in 3-2 away against Atalanta to record their 10th win in the Serie A this season, making it their first win against a direct rival having lost all previous five so far this season.

The Nerazzurri have lost to Lazio, AC Milan, Udinese and Juventus away from home in the Serie A as well as Roma at the San Siro in early October so today’s win over Atalanta was a long awaited one against a direct rival.

Bosnian international Edin Dzeko scored a brace in yesterday’s 3-2 win bringing his tally in the Serie A to six and nine overall in all competitions so far this season which saw Inter finally win away against a top six side in the Italian topflight.
