Inter Sporting Director Piero Ausilio is in Qatar, where his objectives are both to observe the Nerazzurri players in action at the World Cup, and also to discuss transfer business with other club executives.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews, who report that the Inter Sporting Director is particularly keeping an eye on the fitness and form of striker Romelu Lukaku.

Inter’s season is currently on hold for the World Cup, although this does not mean that things have slowed down at all behind the scenes.

Some players will return to training during the World Cup break, but those players called up for their national teams who are participating will play in the tournament, with possible ramifications for their club seasons.

Ausilio will be at the tournament watching those matches in which Inter players participate, seeing how they are getting along fitness-wise.

Meanwhile, the Nerazzurri executive will also use the opportunity to speak with a number of other club executives, keeping many communication channels open regarding potential transfer business.
