Inter are closer than ever to agreeing a contract extension with defender Milan Skriniar.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that the 27-year-old has made clear his intention to stay and extend his deal, and that only a bit of distances remains between the parties on wages.

Negotiations between Inter and Skriniar and his representatives have progressed quickly and in a positive direction since talks started at the end of last month.

The Slovakian has made clear that he wants to stay, whilst the Nerazzurri’s current offer is close to being enough to satisfy the player and his representatives.

More talks will be needed to put the finishing touches on an agreement and put pen to paper on a new deal.

However, the feeling is that now the Nerazzurri are just one step away from securing Skriniar’s future with a new contract agreement.
