Inter are aiming to put pen to paper on a contract extension with defender Milan Skriniar before Christmas.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that the Nerazzurri’s ambition is to have a new deal agreed with the Slovakian before the end of the year.

Inter have not wasted much time in trying to advance the negotiations with Skriniar and his representatives.

There is still work to be done before a new contract with the 27-year-old can be formally agreed.

However, the state of the negotiations is such that the club feel that they should be able to get the signatures done in due time.

Inter want to have certainty regarding Skriniar’s future at the club, and then to move on to other negotiations with a number of other players seeing their contracts expire at the end of June 2023 as well.

Accordingly, the plan is to have Skriniar’s new deal agreed before Christmas.
