Italian national team head coach Roberto Mancini feels that Inter wingback Federico Dimarco is playing some of his best football at both club and international level.

Speaking in a press conference following the Azzurri’s 3-1 win over Albania in a friendly, as reported by FCInter1908, the coach highlighted the form of both Dimarco and Napoli wingback Giovanni Di Lorenzo.

Dimarco has really emerged as a key man for Inter this season, making the left-sided wingback role his own.

The 25-year-old’s ascent in form really began during the September international break, when he repaid the faith of Mancini by putting in some outstanding displays down the Azzurri’s left flank.

After this, Dimarco became a prominent part of the Nerazzurri’s starting eleven as well, and now looks to be at his best on a fairly consistent basis for both club and country.

Asked about the importance of Dimarco as well as Di Lorenzo, Mancini replied that “They are both players who are in great form for Inter and Napoli, and they’re continuing to show it for the national team.”

“They’re both quality players,” he added.
