Inter Sporting Director Piero Ausilio will scout Stuttgart wingback Borna Sosa in Croatia’s World Cup group stage opener against Morocco on Wednesday.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews, who report that the Nerazzurri executive will make watching the 24-year-old an early item on his agenda at the World Cup.

Sosa is a player on Inter’s radar as potentially having the ideal profile for the left-sided wingback position.

The Croat was linked as a like-for-like replacement for Robin Gosens when the Nerazzurri were in talks with Bayer Leverkusen to potentially allow the German leave during the summer.

Given that Gosens’s future at Inter is very much up in the air for as early as the January transfer window, a player of Sosa’s profile is still being sought.

For this reason, Ausilio will be scouting the Croat during the World Cup as the Nerazzurri consider their strategy in his position.
