Inter would be willing to consider a swap deal between wingbacks Robin Gosens and Mitchel Bakker with Bundesliga club Bayer Leverkusen.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that the like-for-like exchange that had been mooted during the summer transfer window could return in January.

Leverkusen had not been successful in their pursuit of Gosens in the final days of the last summer transfer window.

As part of those talks, the Germans were ready to offer 22-year-old Dutch international and former Paris Saint-Germain player Bakker.

The Dutchman would be a direct replacement in the Nerazzurri’s squad for Gosens, and could be part of a player-plus-cash exchange deal that would make the Gosens transfer feasible for both clubs.

As such, Bakker’s name could still come up in the negotiations given that Leverkusen have not lost their interest in signing Gosens and are likely to move for him in January again.
