Inter midfielder Roberto Gagliardini is a target for Monza for the upcoming January transfer window.

This according to Italian news outlet Gazzetta.it, who report that the 28-year-old is one of the Brianzoli’s main targets to strengthen in January alongside Wolfsburg winger Josip Brekalo.

Gagliardini’s current contract with Inter runs out at the end of June 2023, and there is little chance that he would be offered an extension past the end of the current season.

A departure could be on the cards even before next summer, however, as the Nerazzurri would be ready to listen to offers for the former Atalanta midfielder.

Within Serie A, newly-promoted Monza are keen to strengthen for their push to remain in the top flight over the rest of the season.

Gagliardini would be one of the players who the Lombard club are most keen to sign, along with Wolfsburg winger Brekalo who spent last season on loan with Torino.
