Inter are considering moving for Bayer Leverkusen fullback Mitchel Bakker in January, and could send Robin Gosens the other way.

As reported in today’s newspaper edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Nerazzurri have been tracking the Dutch international for some time and could make an approach for him in the winter transfer window.

With Inter coach Simone Inzaghi unconvinced by Gosens following his arrival from Atalanta in January, the Nerazzurri are seeking alternative options on the left and are ready to reignite their interest in Bakker.

It could see an exchange of loans being agreed with Leverkusen, allowing Germany international Gosens to return to the Bundesliga and Bakker to complete a switch to Serie A.

The 22-year-old has attracted interest from Chelsea and Newcastle United in the Premier League, and Inter would be ready to open negotiations with agent Rafaela Pimenta to secure his services.

Bakker joined Leverkusen from Paris Saint-Germain in 2021 and has made 49 appearances, scoring twice.
