Udinese defender Rodrigo Becao may sign a new contract at the club before being granted a transfer away, with Inter amongst the teams tracking him.

As reported in today’s newspaper edition of Messaggero Veneto, the Brazilian centre-back is approaching the final 18 months of his existing contract at the Dacia Arena and has rejected all offers of an extension thus far.

However, it is believed that Udinese and the player’s agent are set to open discussions over reaching an agreement that would see Becao sign a new contract, on the understanding that he will be allowed to leave for a bigger team.

This would ensure that Udinese secure a transfer fee for their prized asset that would meet his valuation, whilst his agent would work on finding a club to move for him.

The 26-year-old former Bahia defender is believed to have drawn interest from clubs in the Premier League, in addition to admiration from Inter.
