Inter striker Lautaro Martinez is set to be one of the “untouchable” members of the Argentine national team in attack at the World Cup, alongside Paris Saint-Germain’s Lionel Messi and Juventus’s Angel Di Maria.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who highlight the 25-year-old’s prominent role in the team in their preview for the Albiceleste at the tournament.

Martinez has been virtually everpresent in Argentina’s starting eleven in the last couple of years, certainly in important matches.

The Nerazzurri striker has proven to have a very effective chemistry with forward teammates Messi and Di Maria.

This dovetailing in attack helped the Albiceleste to win the Copa America in a 1-0 victory over Brazil in the summer of 2021.

Argentina will be hoping to follow this up by winning their first World Cup title in almost four decades at this time around, and if they are to have a hope of doing so Martinez could be a hugely important player.
