Inter striker Romelu Lukaku will not play for the Belgian national team at the World Cup until at least their final group stage match against Croaita.

This according to Italian news outlet Gazzetta.it, who report that the 29-year-old will not be fit enough to play in either of the Red Devils’ first two group stage matches.

Lukaku will not be fit for Belgium’s group stage opener against Canada on Wednesday, and according to the Gazzetta, he will also miss out on their second group stage match against Morocco.

The Nerazzurri striker is now targeting participation in the Red Devils’ third and final match of the group stage, against the Croatian national team.

Inter are closely following the striker’s recovery as he looks to try and make an impact for his country at the World Cup without taking any risks.

The Nerazzurri will hope that Lukaku is not rushed back to action prematurely without being fully fit.
