None of Inter midfielder Nicolo Barella, wingback Federico Dimarco, or defender Francesco Acerbi gave particularly good accounts of themselves in Italy’s 2-0 loss to Austria in a friendly match yesterday evening.

This is the view in today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who give all three of the Nerazzurri trio grades of 5/10 in the player ratings for the match.

The Italian national team faced a disappointing setback in a friendly match to add to the frustration of missing out on the World Cup.

The Azzurri were beaten 2-0 by an Austrian team that looked sharper them in all phases of play, and few individuals really stood out as going against this trend.

All three of Barella, Dimarco, and Acerbi started, and none of the trio of Nerazzurri players were able to have much of a positive influence on play as Italy looked far from their best and sloppy.
