Former Cagliari striker Jeda feels that Inter’s squad is the best in Serie A this season, but that the issue for them has been dealing with pressure.

Speaking to Italian news outlet Magazinepragma, via FCInterNews, the former striker argued that the Nerazzurri’s struggles this season have been mental in nature rather than being related to the quality of the players.

Inter had fairly high expectations going into this season, not least because they had come into the campaign with a squad that had been, on paper, strengthened during the summer transfer window.

Early signs were mixed to put it generously, as the team stumbled in a number of important early matches.

Questions tended to revolve more around the team’s mentality and approach than on whether the team was good enough, as on paper there were few questions.

For his part, Jeda feels that this is the right way of looking at things.

“Inter have one of the strongest squads in Serie A, if not the very strongest,” the former striker said,

“In my opinion, the Nerazzurri’s problem is pressure.”

“That’s definitely a factor that I’ve noticed, and then Lukaku is missing, and I don’t exactly know how Inzaghi is managing this team’s legs.”
