Inter are working to try and sign Borussia Monchengladbach forward Marcus Thuram next summer rather than in the January transfer window.

This according to Sky Sport Italia transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio, who reported live on air yesterday evening via FCInterNews that the Nerazzurri’s aim is to secure an agreement to sign the 25-year-old on a free transfer in June.

It is no secret that Inter are targeting Thuram, and the Nerazzurri are set to hold further talks with the Frenchman’s representatives soon.

Thuram’s contract with Gladbach is set to run out at the end of June 2023.

According to Di Marzio, Inter’s plan is to secure an agreement with Thuram without wasting any time, to beat the competition of Bayern Munich in particular for his signature.

However, he reports, the Nerazzurri are not working to sign the Frenchman in January.

Rather, Inter are getting the talks started early towards a move for Thuram on a free transfer next summer.
