Bundesliga side Schalke are interested in signing Inter wingback Robin Gosens in the January transfer window.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that the relegation strugglers are ready to try and sign the 28-year-old ahead of Bayer Leverkusen and other German teams.

Inter would be willing to listen to offers for Gosens during the January window, whilst the player could well push for an exit given his relative lack of playing time this season so far.

Schalke would be ready to pay Gosens the €2.5 million net per season wages that he currently earns at Inter.

Moreover, the Koenigsblauen are the team that Gosens supported growing up, and are hoping that this could help them convince the 28-year-old on a deal in January.

Meanwhile, the Gazzetta reports, Leverkusen remain very much in the hunt for Gosens.

Leverkusen are ready to offer left-back Mitchel Bakker as part of a deal for the former Atalanta wingback.
