Inter could make the decision not to rush striker Romelu Lukaku back into action in their first Serie A match after the World Cup break against Napoli.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInter1908, who report that Lautaro Martinez and Edin Dzeko could start against the Partenopei if the 29-year-old is not deemed to be fully ready to start.

Lukaku will be aiming to play his way into fitness and form with the Belgian national team during the World Cup and then return to Inter ready to hit the ground running.

However, there is no guarantee that the Belgian will be fully fit when he returns, as great care will be taken managing his fitness on his return.

Lukaku will be aiming to be in the starting eleven for the Nerazzurri’s match against league leaders Napoli on January 4.

However, the feeling is that no risks will be taken with the 29-year-old, and if he is not completely fit he will not start.
