Valencia midfielder Yunus Musah is not aware of any interest from Inter in his signature, but he makes no secret of the fact he would like to return to Italy and Serie A.

Speaking to Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport in an interview published in today’s print edition, as reported by FCInterNews, the young US international reacted to the transfer speculation linking him with the Nerazzurri.

In recent days, Musah’s name has emerged as a possible transfer target for Inter to strengthen their midfield.

The 20-year-old would not necessarily come cheap, but given his age and the growth that he has already shown in his career, he could be a real option to strengthen in the long term.

One factor that could potentially make a transfer to Inter or another team in Serie A for Musah viable is the fact that the American had in fact grown up in Italy, and is very comfortable with the idea of returning, as he already speaks the language and knows the culture.

“I grew up in Italy and spent good years there,” the American said, “I still have some good friends there.”

When asked if he’d heard anything from friends in Italy about his future, Musah replied “Are you by any chance asking me about Inter?”

“I’ve read and heard things in the press the last few days,” he admitted.

“But my agent hasn’t told me anything about it, in truth I couldn’t tell you what will happen.”

“In life you never know what will happen,” Musah went on, “but I’d like to return one day as a top player.”
