Former Inter defender Andrea Ranocchia feels that his former Nerazzurri teammate Yuto Nagatomo was a fully committed professional throughout his time at the club.

Speaking to Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport in an interview published in today’s print edition, via FCInterNews, Ranocchia praised the Japanese international on a sporting as well as a personal level.

Nagatomo spent a total of seven seasons in a Nerazzurri shirt, racking up 210 appearances in the process.

The 36-year-old was at Inter during a time when, for the most part, the team were enduring struggles on the pitch.

However, Nagatomo often stood out for the consistency of his displays down the left flank, even when the team around him looked unconvincing.

For his part, Ranocchia saw the work that Nagatomo put in from the inside, and he enjoyed a very positive relationship with the Japanese international level on a personal level as well.

“We’re talking about a total professional, someone who always gave 100% to whatever he was doing,” he said of the left-back.

“Yuto always took care of every single detail.”

“From training on pitch, the gym, stretches, nutrition,” he noted.

“Even at home he had a personal chef who made him the most ideal dishes for his body.”

Ranocchia looked back that “We were roommates for months, trust me, I have great memories of him, he’s truly a great person.”
