Inter cannot afford to buy striker Romelu Lukaku from Chelsea next summer, but they will renegotiate to extend his loan deal.

This according to Sky Sport Italia transfer market Gianluca Di Marzio, who reported live on air yesterday evening, via FCInterNews, that the €60-70 million valuation of the 29-year-old would make a permanent transfer infeasible for the Nerazzurri next summer.

Inter want to keep Lukaku past the end of the current season despite the fact that he is currently only on loan from Chelsea.

The Nerazzurri agreed a paid loan deal with the Blues over the summer, and according to Di Marzio, negotiations will take place next summer regarding another paid loan deal with different terms.

Chelsea would not be able to sell Lukaku for less than €60-70 million due to the need not to take a significant capital gains loss on the player who they paid a massive fee for in the summer of 2021.
