Inter are not planning to sell midfielder Roberto Gagliardini during the January transfer window due to the difficulty replacing him.

This according to Italian news outlet Calciomercato.com, who report that the Nerazzurri plan on keeping the 28-year-old midfielder until the end of the season despite the interest of Monza in his signature.

Gagliardini’s contract runs out at the end of June 2023 and there is virtually no chance that Inter will extend it.

There has also been talk that the former Atalanta midfielder could leave even before the end of his current deal, with suggestions that he could be on his way as early as the January transfer window.

According to Calciomercato, however, the Nerazzurri would not be keen to let Gagliardini leave in January.

Having a certain amount of midfield depth is important for the squad, and the feeling is that it would not be easy to sign a player who could directly replace Gagliardini.
