Inter wingback Denzel Dumfries feels that there is more tactical clarity within the Dutch national team under coach Louis van Gaal than there had been under his predecessor Frank de Boer.

Speaking to Dutch news outlet Voetbal Internationa, via FCInterNews, the Nerazzurri wingback explained the difference between playing under the two coaches from his perspective.

Dumfries really broke out in the Dutch national team under de Boer, having had an eye-catching Euro 2020 before he made his move to Inter.

After a disappointing round of sixteen elimination from the Euros at the hands of the Czech Republic, the Oranje parted ways with de Boer and hired van Gaal, his third stint in charge of the national team.

For his part, Dumfries feels that there has been a different dynamic in terms of the tactics and the team organization under the current coach compared to his predecessor.

“We’ve yet to lose a match under this coach,” the Inter wingback said of van Gaal.

“Things are more clear, it wasn’t always clear what the formation would be under de Boer.”
