Italian journalist Fabrizio Biasin expects that Inter defender Milan Skriniar is ready to resume contract extension talks in the near future.

Speaking to the Twitch channel of Italian news outlet Calciomercato.it, via FCInter1908, Biasin explained that the Nerazzurri’s intention is certainly to have the talks with the 27-year-old and his representatives wrapped up by Christmas.

The talks between Inter and Skriniar regarding a possible new deal past the end of his current contract at the end of June 2023 have been reported to be fairly advanced, but over the past week or so things have not really moved along.

According to Biasin, however, the player would be ready to go back to the table in the near future.

The journalist expects that the talks will progress in due course, and that on the part of the club, the desire is certainly to get things wrapped up before Christmas.

“He’s definitely ready to start negotiating again, which is a very good sign,” Biasin explained.

“The intention is to not let it go beyond Christmas,” he added, “I don’t think they’ll let it drag on beyond then.”
